Fatburger just added more vegan options to its menu

Fast-food chain Fatburger just got more vegan-friendly in Southern California and Las Vegas. The popular burger chain recently launched the addition of Craig’s Vegan Ice Cream milkshakes at 50 locations between So Cal and Vegas. Available in vanilla and strawberry, they come topped with vegan whipped cream for the ultimate shake experience.

But, there’s more.

As the vegan trend continues to expand at fast food establishments all over the country (cheers to you, Del Taco, Burger King, White Castle), Fatburger also quietly added Daiya Cheddar-Style Cheese to all locations. In early 2018, the chain was one of the first to bring Impossible Burgers to the menu.

“Partnering with Craig’s Vegan Ice Cream has been extraordinary, and we are ecstatic to bring a vegan shake offering to additional Fatburger fans in California and Nevada,” said Andy Wiederhorn, CEO of FAT Brands. “Our vegan shakes are the perfect pairing for our plant-based Impossible Burger and dairy-free cheddar cheese offering.”

Craig’s is an LA-based restaurant known for its eclectic menu (they serve everything from steak to vegan dishes). Open since January 2011, Craig’s Vegan was launched — created by owner Craig Susser and Chef Kursten Kizer — after requests from regulars who wanted non-dairy dessert. The cashew-based ice cream officially launched March 2019 and includes flavors like “Melrose Mint Chip” and “Kurstens PB Krunch.” The brand first partnered with Fatburger in October 2019 with 12 locations offering the shakes. Thanks to demand (see, showing up and purchasing vegan items at traditionally non-vegan spots does work!), the company decided to expand and bring the decadent treat to more locations in the region.
