Mint Indian Bistro

Mint Indian Bistro is a vegan-friendly Indian restaurant in Las Vegas with a large selection of vegan options. No stranger to the vegan dining scene, the first Mint outpost opened in 2008 just off The Strip. Since then, the Indian restaurant has been serving up tasty and colorful eats and slowly growing their vegan menu in Las Vegas.

Helmed by seasoned chef Tarun Kapoor, Mint’s new vegan offerings are abundant … and delicious. Plus, we dig that the options are all marked as vegan or show that they can be made vegan. Dining without stress is always a bonus.Mint Indian Bistro has two very vegan friendly locations in Las Vegas. For more vegan dining in Las Vegas, visit www.vegansbaby.com

Grab some friends or family and indulge in the vegan options at Mint — they’re perfect for sharing and make a night of it and partake in the pour-your-own wine and beer taps (you’ve got to try it!!).

Ordering an appetizer or two is a must!

Mint features classic Indian dishes such as the always tasty samosas, crispy papadums, and aloo tikki chaat (think potato pancakes with spiced chickpeas). The vegan-friendly Las Vegas restaurant also offers street food favorites from Mumbai, like the sev puri, a savory chutney mix piled on top of a crispy cracker.

Make it a hands-on event and order the pani puri. To eat this dish, gently crack the puffed bite-sized crisps with the back of a spoon and fill it with the tangy, spicy chutney, then pop the whole thing into your mouth. Looking for more of a twist? There’s even an option to add vodka.

For your meal, choose from numerous colorful curries bursting with flavor. Whether you are looking for something creamy, saucy, spicy, or mild, there are delicious vegan entrees for everyone.

We went with the dal tadka balti, a classic yellow lentil dish cooked with tomatoes and spices, and the chetinad curry with veggies, a spicy south Indian dish with poppy-seed and coconut undertones.

Not a curry person? Order the impressive dosa with spiced potato and chutney or the tikka veggie kabobs.

It’s not a complete meal without basmati rice, roti flatbread, or paratha, a flatbread stuffed with spiced potatoes. Make sure to wash it all down with a soy mango lassi (a creamy and delicious fruit smoothie, the perfect companion to your spicy meal).

Both Mint locations offer a lunch buffet with vegan options. New to the Durango location exclusively, Mint is now serving their “Big, Fat, Indian Breakfast Buffet” on Saturdays and Sundays.

Kathryn Hartwig is a senior writer for Vegans, Baby. She decided to go vegan nearly a decade ago while searching for the perfect diet to compliment her role as a professional dancer. After experimenting with multitudes of fads, she Kat found a lifestyle that turned out to be more than a diet. She settled in Vegas with her husband/photographer Daniel, and puppy, Layla, after traveling the world on cruise ships and living in New York City. The family recently welcomed the birth of their first child, a true vegan baby.
