Sojo Ramen

Sojo Ramen is the place to go for vegan ramen. For more vegan options in Las Vegas, visit www.vegansbaby.com

Did we just discover a vegan-friendly ramen joint in Las Vegas that gives our beloved Jinya a run for it’s money? We. Sure. Did. Sojo Ramen is a ramen restaurant in Las Vegas with some of the best ramen in town and a lot of vegan options.

This restaurant, part of the Soho Japanese Restaurant and Soho Burrito brand, is serving up tasty ramen that we just can’t get enough of. And just like its sister restaurants, Sojo Ramen makes sure to cater to its vegan guests by including a clearly marked menu (just look for the “V” in the vegetarian section).

The menu consists of vegan friendly appetizers and three different bowls of ramen. Which are gluten-free (thank you, tofu and rice noodles).

Make sure to let your server know you’re vegan when taking your drink order (we recommend the flavored ice teas) so you can enjoy the complimentary salad which normally has a creamy dressing but can easily be replaced with a vegan-friendly sesame one.

Take your pick from the five vegan and gluten-free appetizers. There’s the classic edamame served with sweet chili sauce; flash-fried broccoli topped with sesame and citrusy ponzu sauce; sautéed garlic kale (we though we were over kale, but this app convinced us to love it again); tangy yuzo miso, a cold tofu dish topped with kale; and Nasu Miso Japanese eggplant with yuzu miso topped with rice cracker that is addictive.

Now let’s talk ramen, because that’s why you’re here.

Tip: If you are someone who likes a lot of heat, ask for the chili paste. There are two options: spicy and ghost chili.

Your bowl of ramen includes silken tofu, green onion, garlic chive, wood ear mushroom, bean sprouts, corn, and miso ground tofu (no, that’s not pork in your soup! You can also add in other goodies if you want more items.

As for the noodles, we are always down for rice noodles, but if that’s not your thing, request tofu noodles for an extra charge. Obviously, the egg noodles are not vegan so steer clear.

After experimenting with multitudes of fads, she Kat found a lifestyle that turned out to be more than a diet. She settled in Vegas with her husband/photographer Daniel, and puppy, Layla, after traveling the world on cruise ships and living in New York City. The family recently welcomed the birth of their first child, a true vegan baby.
